Daily management of The Goa School takes place within a team of people, who work part-time and pro-bono to achieve its objectives.
Paloma Quadros | Operations Head
Paloma Quadros dedicates her time to consulting, teaching at business colleges and training. With an education from the University of South Carolina-Beaufort, and experience spanning five countries including leadership roles in five-star hotels, Paloma joined The Goa School management team in October 2021. She is also co-founder of Yomorebi Hospitality Consulting LLP. She lives and works in Goa, India.
Jonathan Burton | Advisor
Jonathan Burton is an advisor to The Goa School. He started his career as an architect, building schools on remote islands of the Maldives. He soon learnt that quality education requires more than buildings, and built a 30-year career in social and economic development in Africa and Asia. He has orchestrated hundreds of mentoring and capacity-building interventions, empowering communities, building international solidarity and understanding. Today he on-boards new mentors to The Goa School and follows their work, in addition to working as a part of an advisory group reporting to The Board Members of The Goa School Trust. Jonathan lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland.
Madhuri Dass Woudenberg | Founder-Director
Madhuri is Founder-Director of The Goa School. She is also first Trustee of The Goa School Trust. Madhuri brings 20 plus years of experience and connections from an international career in communications for sustainable development to each program at The Goa School. She has worked in organisations such as CARE, USAID, Save the Children, Handicap International and The Global Development Network. At The Goa School, she curates spellbinding, transformative mentoring and learning experiences for young Indian changemakers, designed to help them pursue compassionate and fulfilling lives. She lives and works in Goa, India, for a large part of the year.
Volunteers and Interns work with us on a pro-bono basis throughout the year. Currently, Swati Saxena is sharing her experience at India Fellow with us, and helps with activities such as researching and developing new concept notes, and evaluating and interpreting our data. Two interns, Hritik Gautam from the Vahani Scholarship Trust and Devananda from Zakir Hussain college in Delhi are assisting us with social media.
Do you want to be our next intern?
Are you a changemaker who wants to learn about how a social impact organisation works? Are you interested in management? Good at organising events? Can you write stories, design graphics? If yes, you could well be our next sparkly intern.
We are offering two positions:
- The Management Internship will include assisting assisting with our next immersion program, organising our results, following up with Fellows or Mentors as well joining our management team meetings.
- The Communications Internship will include writing impact stories, getting together interesting graphics, and managing our social media.
We offer plenty of first-hand experience in connecting with changemakers, and building up your own, as well as their knowledge and networks. While the internship position is remotely held, it includes a trip to Goa to join the next immersion program from somewhere in India. You can do a 3 month or a 6 month stint with us, depending on your availability. Get in touch!
